The 2025 New England Mortgage Expo: More, More More!

Whew! What an incredible few days it’s been at the 2025 New England Mortgage Expo at Mohegan Sun Resort & Casino, back again for the 16th year. From January 14 to 17, nearly 1,500 mortgage professionals gathered for a jam-packed event filled with standing-room-only sessions, powerful keynote presentations, and top-tier networking opportunities. Here's a look back at the highlights from this unforgettable experience.

Keynote Speakers That Inspired and Informed

The Expo featured a stellar lineup of speakers, headlined by Selma Hepp, Chief Economist at CoreLogic. In her keynote address, Hepp provided an in-depth analysis of market trends, offering attendees valuable insights into the economic forces shaping the housing and mortgage industries in 2025. Her data-driven outlook on market dynamics left the room buzzing with actionable takeaways.

Mike Fawaz, EVP of Rocket Pro TPO, delivered another standout presentation, offering practical advice on building stronger partnerships and leveraging technology to navigate the current market. His expertise and insights resonated with attendees looking for innovative ways to grow their businesses in a challenging landscape.

The Expo also welcomed Rocky Bleier, NFL legend and four-time Super Bowl champion. In his motivational keynote, Stop at Nothing, Bleier shared his journey of resilience and determination, inspiring attendees to tackle challenges head-on and persevere toward success.

Sessions That Packed the House

The event kicked off with the New England Women in Banking & Mortgage pre-conference event, which celebrated the accomplishments of women in the industry and offered empowering sessions like "Get Empowered Like The Duchess of Decorum." These sessions provided valuable leadership and professional development strategies.

Attendees also came early for Mortgage Bankers: Future Forward, a special pre-conference all-day program specifically for C-Suite leaders at the region's independent mortgage banks. This program explored of the strategies and challenges facing mortgage lenders and their leadership teams.

The Non-QM Summit was another highlight, drawing crowds eager to learn about the growing opportunities in the non-qualified mortgage market. Attendees walked away with actionable strategies to diversify their client bases and tap into this expanding sector.

Meanwhile, the Hot Loans Challenge put industry pros to the test. In this spin-off of the popular YouTube series Hot Ones, we quizzed mortgage pros on their industry knowledge while eating progressively hotter chicken wings. Participants included Steven A. Milner, Founder & CEO, US Mortgage Corp.; Jacqueline Sendra-Morris, Mortgage Loan Originator, UNMB Home Loans Inc.; Eric Braun, Chief of Growth, Interstate Home Loan Center; and E.J. Gilbride, Associate, Hartford Funding Ltd, hosted by Maximum Acceleration's Director of Education Brandon Christensen.

The networking opportunities at this year’s Expo were unparalleled. The Fun Under the Sun networking reception on Thursday evening brought attendees together in a relaxed, festive atmosphere.
