Empowering Women In Mortgage

The Mortgage Women Leadership Council (MWLC) is a dynamic network dedicated to empowering women in the mortgage industry through mentorship, collaboration, and professional development. Founded by the creators of Mortgage Women Magazine, the MWLC provides a supportive space for women at all career stages, from entry-level roles to senior leadership positions. Its mission is to help women thrive by connecting them with the tools, resources, and community they need to succeed.

Kelly Hendricks, Senior Vice President at Delmar Financial Company and Managing Editor of Mortgage Women Magazine, has observed the growing need for support in the industry. Facing a challenging market, many women, including herself, have struggled with burnout and uncertainty. "From a leadership perspective, we’re seeing burnout, exhaustion, and frustration," Hendricks notes. The MWLC is designed to be a remedy—offering women an outlet for collaboration, idea-sharing, and peer support.

The Council's programming includes mentorship opportunities, networking events, and resources that span local, regional, and virtual formats. MWLC aims to normalize women’s leadership and provide a platform to recognize and appreciate their journeys. Open to all—men and women alike—the Council offers tiered membership levels, providing access for anyone from entry-level originators to seasoned executives. Members can join as individuals or participate through corporate sponsorships, making it accessible to a wide range of industry professionals. The MWLC’s mentorship program further allows members to either serve as mentors or seek guidance from others, fostering a culture of support and growth.

A highlight of MWLC's initiatives is the upcoming Mortgage Star Conference, happening on July 9, 2025, at the Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans. This event, produced in collaboration with the Originator Connect Network, is a specially designed hands-on immersion centered around superior results for women in the mortgage profession. Attendees can expect a day filled with insightful sessions, networking opportunities, and strategies tailored to empower women in their careers. The Mortgage Star Conference occurs in conjunction with the Ultimate Mortgage Expo on July 10-11, allowing participants to attend sessions for both conferences with a single registration.
