On February 6, 2025, mortgage professionals from across the Southeast gathered in Atlanta for the annual Atlanta Mortgage Expo. The expo offered a comprehensive agenda designed to educate, innovate, and motivate attendees in the ever-evolving mortgage industry.

Morning Sessions: Economic Insights and Technological Advancements

The day commenced with a session titled "The Economy, Interest Rates & The Non-Agency Borrowers," led by John Wise of Newfi Wholesale. Wise provided an in-depth analysis of the U.S. economy, emphasizing how non-agency solutions can assist borrowers in purchasing or refinancing properties in 2025.

Following this, Daniella Rodriguez from Sun West Mortgage Company presented "The Rise of AI — The Future of Mortgage." Rodriguez discussed the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on the mortgage industry, highlighting Sun West's AI-powered underwriting and processing platform, Angel AI, which has been operational since 2018. She detailed how AI has streamlined underwriting processes, enhanced loan decisions, and expanded credit access to more communities.

Mid-Morning Panels: Building Sustainable Businesses and Learning from Industry Leaders

Allen Middleman of Freedom Mortgage Wholesale moderated a panel titled "Building Your 4EVER Broker Business." The discussion featured experienced mortgage professionals sharing their unique histories, current approaches, and strategic perspectives on achieving long-term success in the industry.

Attendees also had the opportunity to learn from Thuan Nguyen, CEO of Loan Factory, Inc., in a session titled "Learn From The Nation’s #1 Loan Officer." Nguyen, recognized as the top loan officer in the country for 2020 and 2021, shared strategies, mindsets, and methods that have propelled him to the top, providing invaluable insights for both new and seasoned loan officers.

Late Morning Sessions: Navigating Non-QM Market Trends and Leveraging AI in Sales and Marketing

Dee Buckley and Kevin Perry from Angel Oak Mortgage Solutions led a session on "Making The 2025 Mortgage Market Work For You And The Underserved Borrowers." They explored innovative strategies, technological advancements, and market predictions to help professionals navigate the evolving Non-QM market landscape.

James Jin of General Mortgage Capital Corporation presented "AI-Lite: Sales And Marketing Technology (Grow Your Existing Market Using AI)." He introduced attendees to AI-Lite technology, demonstrating how it can expand reach and connect with new realtors, referral partners, and borrowers by matching active listings with specialized lending programs.

Networking and Continuing Education

The exhibit hall opened during lunch, providing attendees with the opportunity to connect with industry vendors, explore new products and services, and network with peers.

The following day, February 7, 2025, an optional 8-hour NMLS Renewal Course was offered, allowing participants to fulfill their continuing education requirements. This course was free with pre-registration and required attendees to complete their Exhibit Hall Passports to qualify for admission.
